5S Toolbox Organization

All Coenen Mechanical Toolboxes are in 5S condition. The 5 “S-words” refer to five Japanese words (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) roughly translated to: sorting, straightening, systematic cleaning, standardizing, and sustaining. Applying this common-sense approach to organization and housekeeping contributes intuitively to safety as well. 5S Toolbox Organization translates into direct benefits to our customers:
  • Standardized
All boxes are identical, so employees can go to any job site and begin work immediately. Non-value-added time searching for tools is dramatically reduced.
  • Efficient
Each tool/item has a designated location allowing for quick and easy worksite auditing.
  • Clean
The interior is white to allow quick recognition of tool locations and the ability to maintain toolbox cleanliness.
  • Capacity
Each box supplies tools and rigging for four men.
  • Diversity
Boxes contain hand tools, power tools, rigging, and all support equipment to perform all process piping work, including rigging two tons worth of equipment.
  • Cost Effective
Reduced labor through efficiency, and all tools are included in standard rates.
